Materials
- Coloured paper – pink
- Paint – pink, black
- Sketch pen
- Glue
- A pair of scissors
Instructions for Little Farmer Hand Print Piggy Activity
- Draw an outline of your child’s hand on a pink coloured paper. Cut it out.
- Cut a circle out of the pink coloured paper for the head. Ask your child to stick it on the pig’s body.
- Draw the hooves for the pig at the edge of the fingers.
- Help your child finger-paint the hooves with pink paint.
- Ask them to dip the thumb in paint and imprint on the pig’s face.
- Cut out the ears. Help your child stick them to the face.
- Let them finger-paint the eyes, nose, and mouth of the pig.
- Cut a thin strip of pink coloured paper and roll it. This is the pig’s tail.
- Stick it at the rear end of the pig. Your child may play with the pig’s tail.
The piggy is ready to play!
Go ahead and create the parent pigs — make an outline of your hand(s). Encourage your preschooler to help you out. Show your little one the craft and prompt them to identify what it is — describe the sound this animal makes, where it lives, etc.
As your child completes this activity, they enhance their language. Seeing their hand transforming into a piggy helps develop their creativity.
